“Segunda visita al hotel y de nuevo nos quedamos con una muy buena sensación. El hotel es muy clásico, pero está muy bien cuidado. Situado junto a las dunas. La comida es de muy buena calidad, tanto desayuno como cena. Las comidas en el restaurante de la piscina, también buenas, aunque los precios son un poco caros para lo que ofrecen. Pasa lo mismo con las bebidas de la media pensión. Precios bastante más altos de lo normal, habitual en la mayoría de hoteles. El hotel es muy tranquilo, ideal para descansar. Para mí los principales fallos son: la reserva de amacas, la ausencia de animación de calidad y los precios excesivos de las bebidas. Por lo demás, cumple con todo, calidad de comida, limpieza, comodidad, trato de personal, perfecto.”

Lo mejor de este hotel el personal y la ubicación. Después de varios años visitando es hotel, he visto como a poco se ha vuelto un hotel viejo y pasado de moda. Lamentablemente las instalaciones son viejas y faltas de mantenimiento, durante la estancia he sentido mucho calor y me han dicho que la única solución es abrir las ventanas, a pesar que el hotel en teoría tiene aire acondicionado. El buffet ha perdido la calidad de otros años, incluso un día encontré que los tomates estaban fermentados, he de decir que lo informé al personal y reaccionaron pero aún así este tipo de cosas no debería pasar.

Estoy actualmente cenando en en el restaurante del hotel (llevo una semana alojado aquí). El enclave es único, una aberración urbanística que "preside" o desfigura el parque natural de las dunas de Maspalomas, del que merece la pena disfrutar ya que no lo derriban. Habrán leído que el hotel esta anclado en los años 70' a nivel decorativo, que bueno, no me importa, soy fan del remember y el "vintage". Pero cuando acuado al comedor con una camiseta de moda tipo lumberjack (sin hombros) y me discriminan diciendo que no se puede, cuando el 60% de las mujeres del comedor va en tirantes (que van desde cubrir el hombro entero a ser tirantes de 1cm de ancho...) es lo que podríamos llamar hoy perfectamente un protocolo de vestimenta sexista y de discriminación de género. RIU Palace Maspalomas, muy mal. No solo están anticuadas las habitaciones, vuestra normas y protocolos, también son de los 70.

Con lo a mi me gustaba la cadena Riu, me parece muy mal y una estafa que el checking sea a las 16.00 y el checkout a las 11.00 me están quitando 5 horas a mi estancia de las cuales no veo yo compensación alguna por vuestra parte, os salva los profesionales que tenéis, el bufett es una sombra de lo que era Riu. Y si deseas quedarte me cobran 15 euros por hora un máximo de dos horas pero que tampoco, por no tener detalles ni siquiera agua de cortesía?. Por favor que he estado en sitios de mucha menos categoría y siempre hay una botella de agua por persona de cortesía y no a 2 euros y pico cada botella eso es de usureros. En fin no lo recomiendo

Me parece un verdadero privilegio la localización de este hotel en frente de las dunas de Maspalomas. Le doy la puntuación mas alta ya que aparte de la tranquilidad, las increíbles instalaciones, la excelente gastronomía y el clima del que goza esta zona, se nota el compromiso que tiene con el medio ambiente. Al estar viviendo días de cambio hacia lo verde y ecológico, este es el tipo de lugares donde se debe dar ejemplo. Espero que sigan así para el día de mañana seguir viendo las dunas y la zona igual de majestuoso y sin residuos de visitantes.

Un 5 estrellas, pero un café 2,60 euros, de Nespresso y con su pastita y todo. En un marco incomparable de las Dunas de Maspalomas. Se puede pedir más, profesionalidad, buen trato y encima un pianista tocando el Canon de Pachebel. Una maravilla. Felicidades a todo el equipo de Tui-Riu por el maravilloso trabajo que hacen. Una de las mejores cadenas españolas, para sentirse orgulloso. Además claro con el clima de Maspalomas

Great hotel situated right on the edge of Maspalomas sand dunes. The staff here always seemed to be smiling and happy. The overall service was excellent and just what work would be expecting from a top rated hotel. The pool areas were clean and there were always plenty of sun beds available no matter what time of the day. Food was a very high standard too and the Krystal Restaurant is well worth a visit too.

Great hotel with very friendly and outgoing personnel overall. Mostly older crowd and quiet at the pool. The rooms are good, but the bed is quite hard and pillows not that great. The breakfast is the best I've had outside of Sweden. Not that much good restaurants Ana bars/cocktail lounges close to the hotel though. But overall a really nice and pleasant visit!

It’s nice hotel however room was a bit small, no sofa for sitting like in many hotels. Also bathroom is a bit small, bath size rather for kids than adults. In the room no kettle, so no tea or coffee. Drinks quite expensive, cocktails €9 and more. Dinner doesn’t include any drink, not even water (half board). Overall nice place to stay however not very good value.

I stayed at the Riu Palace with my wife and kids in mid January, the hotel is right at the sand dunes where we had a lot of fun running around playing on the dunes. There are shops near by if you need anything extra. The rooms are well kept and we really couldn't fault them. Special mention to the staff who were great with the kids always showing extra effort to talk to them. The only thing I would mention to other families traveling at this time of year is that there were almost no other children there making us feel a little like the odd one's out.

This is a nice hotel which one might presume used to be, a long time ago,very nice. It's in need of renovation, but the pricing is in line, which makes it somewhat of a bargain considering its location adjacent to the famous dunes of Maspalomas and the lovely sand beach. The breakfast buffet was very good, not great, and the same could be said of the service. The exercise room is rather minimal, the swimming pools are of an old design but still very nice. The furniture in public areas is well worn. I didn't have dinner there (I prefer the variety of dining out) so can't comment on the quality of food outside of breakfast. Overall I would say it is good value for the money, but don't expect great luxury or modern design. Enjoy it before they decide to renovate and it becomes much more expensive.

Paradise.Best hotel in the world. Fantastic setting, views and amenities.Perfect for us as a retired quiet couple when we are in need of winter sunshine.Sitting outside for breakfast sipping complementary proseccois a real delight and helps to wash away all our winter woes. Great range of dishes for dinner in the evening. Particularly tasty last weekwere: king prawns, roast lamb, spare ribs, lentil soup. We have eaten far too well and far too much. All staff are fantastically helpful and cheery.Drinks at mealtimes, from the bar and pool area are rather expensive,butweforgive them that.

Really good hotel in a spectacular location overlooking the famous Maspolomas sand dunes which are totally breathtaking. The best thing about the hotel are its staff who look after your every need and are always courteous and pleasant to speak to. The entire hotel is old looking in style and decor but we felt this added to its charm. The lounge areas were spotlessly clean and well maintained as was our room. The pool area is absolutely fine although the pool itself isn't heated. What surprised us is that a hotel so favoured by elderly clients had fairly poor access for disabled and infirm to the pool area. There was only one ramp which was narrow and too steep for anyone using a non electric wheel chair or walking aid. On the plus side the food was very good, varied choice every night and if you choose to dine in the Krystal restaurant during your stay you will definitely enjoy the experience. There was entertainment every night which again suited the older clientele but it was absolutely fine. Overall we enjoyed this hotel but wouldn't return as its definitely ore suited to the over 60s.

Like living in the "Dallas" tv show :) While it's modern and well maintained, it's styled in a 80s kind of luxury. Many of the guests are German and British senior couples. Staff is professional and friendly.We had the half-board, the diner was very nice with a huge buffet of lots of different things, and it was new things every day. DO NOTE that appropriate dressing is expected, e.g. men should not wear shorts or sleave-less vests, according to the hotel information.One of us is lactose intolerant, all allergens were clearly marked as such except for the desserts - when the staff was asked, they arranged so that she got a lactose free dessert every night.The pool areas are both very nice. The amazing beach is maybe 1km away along the edge of the desert. The desert itself offers gorgeous views.

Beautiful hotel,the decor isold fashioned but beautifully kept and gave it a lovelyrelaxed atmosphere . Excellent service, staff speaking English, German, French and even Dutch, very impressive. The food is excellent with your ownallocated table for dinner . We had a lovely room overlooking the Dunes with a lovely private balcony , one minor thing to get into the bath the step into it was very high there was a rail to hold onto but given the clientele is somewhat elderly this maybe hazardous also the water temperature in the shower was a bit hit and miss but this just being a bit picky, dressing gowns in bathroom were a nice touch .We would definitely stay here again, we had a lovely week . What should I say: the place you feel like in heaven. Great and friendly stuff, excellent food, a great view over the Dunas of Maspalomas and clean and friendly rooms with nice terraces or balkonies. When we arrived, we found in our room two little bottles of champaign, a sort of fruits and a bottle of water, also we are invited to have a welcome-drink at the bar. More welcome is not possible. Thank you Riu Palace Maspalomas!

Sorry to say very disappointed with our time here standard has fallen since the last time we were here!!! Staff were lovely as usual but the hotel has been very poor in the restaurant and pool area i know they have a new manager in the hotel now!!! But didn't make herself known to us as Roberto did cut back in staff in pool area!!! It's sad to say i won't be coming back to this hotel any time soon and me and my wife loved this place its a shame when you start cutting back people who have coming here for years see it!!! Not good!

A very elitistic hotel very close to dune of Maspalomas. Some rooms have a beautiful view to dunes. Restaurant with wonderful and delicious food. Every client have a designated table and hour, so is good to go there in time. Is one of the few hotel restaurants with people wearing elegant outfits. The pool outside is great, but could be a little much colder in comparising with other parts of the islands because of the wind from the dunes. Rooms are not very new, but are elegant. Very close is a supermarket, if you need something. Also, not too far away a comercial center.

Sólo se me ocurren cosas positivas que decir de este hotel. La habitación contaba con una terraza con vistas a las espectaculares dunas de Maspalomas con el mar al fondo, estando salpicado el entorno con numerosas palmeras que dan la sensación al que lo contempla de encontrarse en un oasis. La comida merece un capítulo apartepor su exquisita factura y variedad ,servida en un comedor perfectamente organizado en el que nada parece ser dejado al azar. El personal es atento muy profesional y extraordinariamente eficiente. Los jardines muy cuidados atractivos.Las hamacas son cómodas y las piscinas son una delicia. Uno de los hoteles más recomendables de Gran Canaria del que a buen seguro se puede guardar un grato recuerdo.

Me encanta este hotel 😍😘. Pero todo hay que decirlo solo lo conozco desde fuera que ya por las fotos puedo decir y demostrar que es un encanto, el sitio donde está ubicado es perfecto, la entrada al hotel es preciosa el camino y entradahacia las dunas es tan majestuoso como el mismo hotel. Siempre se ve limpio, tiene tiendas de ropa y artículos de regalo dentro del hotel, un botones en la puerta de recepción,taxis en la puerta, parada del bus también en la entrada. Centros comerciales muy cerca tiene todo cerca para los turistas que les gusta caminar.Me encantaría conocerlo por dentro un par de días alojados en este hotel tendrá que ser perfecto. La cadena Riu destaca por la atención, el personal siempre atento y dispuesto hacia las necesidades de sus clientes.Para mi se merecen un 10 sobre 10. Es el hotel ideal para pasar lasvacaciones. 👍

El hotel no está mal, un poco antiguo y demasiados extranjeros, la gente de hostelería es estupenda. Pero cuidado si quieres descansar y dormir hasta tarde, es imposible, las señoras de la limpieza hacen un ruido impresionante y es imposible dormir más de las 8 de la mañana. Además me hicieron sentir fatal porque entraron sin avisar el último día y en recepción tienen un lío grande con los check out y no respetan tu hora de salida. No volveré

Buen trato, los camareros del bufet son excelentes, EN ESPECIAL (MARITA). Una persona encantadora, nos hizo pasar una velada fantástica y con un trato como en familia.La comida del bufet es muy buen. Las habitaciones y el resto del hotel necesitan una renovación están obsoletos. Y las camas son muy incómodas, el mobiliario en general es bastante antiguo.No me gusto el sistema para el préstamo de las toallas de la piscina, es bastante incómodo y tampoco me pareció correcto que se cobrara por la caja de seguridad de la habitación. (ES MUY CUTRE). Tener caja de seguridad en una habitación de hotel es súper básico.Por lo demás todo correcto. Hotel recomendable para estancias cortas.

El hotel es espectacular, de alto nivel, 5 estrellas.Muy bonito, muy bien decorado, muy limpio.Situado justo en el camino de acceso a las dunas de Maspalomas.Por eso no puedo calificarlo con más valoración.Porque daña el ecosistema, los vientos, con los que las arenas, forman las dunas.No sé cómo se permitió su construcción, pero huele a chamusquina.

Ideal fue nuestro aniversario de boda teniamos otro hotel de la misma cadena y habiendo overboking nos llamaron para pasarnos a este por el mismo precio siendo este de mas estrellas.. Al llegar quedamos cautivados atencion belleza de vistas limpieza no hay un no ni una mala reseña para ellos. Personal excepcional.. Mil gracias tanta amabilidad..

Excellent as usual. Every single thing is thought of. The staff are amazing. I always put on a few pounds when I come here. The food is too good.The show cooking when the duck or lamb is on is my favourite. Every area of the hotel is well maintained and there is a real pride by the people who work there in the service they provide. I think I may return here every year until the day I die. Yes. It's that good. 😀

I wont digress into the qualities of the hotel in general. However, my overall experience there has been completely destroyed by the incompetent, ignorant, unhelpful receptionist and presumably the hotel director who didn't want to talk to me in person. We had an issue after the stay and the hotel behaved like the worst possible shack. Fully transactional behavior, like you didn't pay multiple thousand euros for your stay. I don't ever want to get treated this way. So in order to keep me safe from people like that, we will never book any Riu hotel again.

I have been a guest at this hotel for holidays since 2007. The quality of this establishment is of the highest standard, it entertains anecdotally some of the best patronage of repeat visits by guests going back almost 20 years. That speaks to the services, the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere of this place.The views from the high floors of this hotel are stunning, of the dunes all the way to the sea.Having spent over 200 nights altogether at this hotel, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Gran Canaria.

This is my second visit to RIU hotels the other was in Fuerteventura, both hotels offer a high standard, staff make everyone feel most welcome throughout the hotel. The restaurantoffers buffet style food but freshly prepared it can be busy at times but the staff coped and were very attentive, noting was too much trouble. Cleanliness was a high standard everywhere. I did not enjoy the evenings entertainment but this is my personal taste and many did enjoy it but it never made my stay any less enjoyable.

Recibimiento genial, la habitacion bien decoración antigua pero está bastante bien. En mi caso con vistas a las Dunas de Maspalomas. El hotel está comprometido con el medio ambiente y si quieres que te cambien las sábanas haz de poner una tarjeta encima de las mismas y si quieres que te cambien las sábanas las dejas en el suelo y listo. La comida bien con bastante variedad. Y los trabajadores educados, bastante atento y muy cercanos con la clientela.

Hotel muy bueno y el servicio y amabilidad espectacular.El hotel ya tiene unos años q se nota en pequeños aspectos como decoración etc, pero que se suple por la amabilidad de todo el personal y el servicio que ofrece.El buffet tanto de desayuno como de cena muy bueno, mucha variedad y una gran calidad.Por la zona se aparca bien y esta pegado a las dunas.Gran piscina y ambiente tranquilo.Incluso nos dejaron una habitación de cortesía para ducharnos después de haber dejado el hotel.Repetiremos seguro

Segunda visita al hotel y de nuevo nos quedamos con una muy buena sensación. El hotel es muy clásico, pero está muy bien cuidado. Situado junto a las dunas. La comida es de muy buena calidad, tanto desayuno como cena. Las comidas en el restaurante de la piscina, también buenas, aunque los precios son un poco caros para lo que ofrecen. Pasa lo mismo con las bebidas de la media pensión. Precios bastante más altos de lo normal, habitual en la mayoría de hoteles. El hotel es muy tranquilo, ideal para descansar. Para mí los principales fallos son: la reserva de amacas, la ausencia de animación de calidad y los precios excesivos de las bebidas. Por lo demás, cumple con todo, calidad de comida, limpieza, comodidad, trato de personal, perfecto.

A good four star hotel with helpful and friendly staff. We have just spent our third holiday in this hotel, but have met others who have returned annually over many years.On a half-board basis, both the breakfast and dinner buffets offer a wide choice of well cooked and presented dishes. The Las Dunas restaurant offers excellent lunch choices, from a salad buffet to a variety of lighter cooked food.

This hotel is fabulous !!! We were given upgrade on arrival to a suite - which was a lovely surprise - as we had arrived late evening and missed dinner we were supplied a buffet in our room, and on my birthday a bottle of Cava was left in our room .All staffwere so friendly and had great sense of humour, no one could do enough for you. Food was exceptional with plenty of variety. Could not fault anything about it and will be definitely re booking again for next year.Thank you to all Rui staff for a fabulous time !!

I expected a bit of sophistication when I booked this hotel, but unfortunately there appears to exist a practice of "filling up" the place with last-minute budget hunters. We had some peculiar days with neighbours who thought it necessary to discuss the worst banalities at the top of their voices on the balcony, and throughout the night (we do not like paper walls either, I have to admit).RIU also markets its environmental initiatives, posing as an environmental champion and encouraging guests to buy local foods, etc. Unfortunately, none of that is reflected in their own management, for instance with regard to their buffets (who needs schnitzels in the morning??), or the room cleaning practices, where towels will be removed every day, whether you want them changed or not. The location is very nice, but the place does just not live up to expectations. Very friendly staff!

The hotel is decorated in a traditional style and is a high quality. The service is excellent and always delivered with a smile that makes you feel that they really mean it. The meals were of a very high standard and there was plenty of choice. Entertainment at the hotel was good.The general area around the hotel is quite and it is situated right next to the sand dunes. I wouldn't hesitate to go back for another holiday as overall it is one of the best hotels i have stayed at.

From the moment my wife and I walked in we felt the friendliness of all the staff. What a fantastic hotel with an excellent backdropof the Maspalomas sand dunes. The room we had was a Sea View and what a view. The cleanliness was outstanding the facilities first class and the food ,what a varied selection all prepared to a high standard . Overall nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. A definite jewel in the crown .We would recommend this hotel withouta doubt Keep up the good work

Chilled yet smart. Public access to sand dunes runs through the centre of the hotel! However access to the pool area is by reception only. Staff lovely and buffet meals are plentiful, good quality and varied.

Located directly overlooking the dunes, Hotel Riu Palace is a very Grand, Palatial building. I only had a short visit, but was very impressed with the standard of the decor. The staff were very efficient and courteous, I would highly recommend a visit.
