Stayed at a wheelchair accessible room. The rooms were old and outdated, and only accessible from the side, and not through the elevator or lobby. Honestly it felt like staying at a motel, the heater was also down so we had to resort to space heaters. You have to pay for parking, and the bathroom was barely accessible. The toilet seat was weirdly elevated for some reason, the shower was a roll in which was fine. The only thing good is the location, which is relatively near Stanford hospital, and the staff is friendly. If you need an accessible room, find somewhere else.

I had booked a poolside cabana, but when I arrived the receptionist admitted that there were no more poolside cabana rooms, and that she could move me to an older wing of the hotel, facing the parking lot. The room was dark and had an old musty smell. It felt unclean and had broken down equipment (phone, lamp). To my surprise, I was still billed the poolside cabana rate and now have to follow up on that. Would not stay here again.

Was here for a week on a business trip around Silicon Valley. Quiet area at night in terms of walking up and down the main road. I was in room 119 which had a motel feel to it and it was very dated. The Beatles once stayed in the place as The Cabana before Crowne Plaza turned up, but I was half expecting Black Sabbath to be next door wrecking it. The room had a damp musty smell, which was probably down to the fact there was no air extraction in the bathroom for the shower over bath - it was obviously broken. I'm not one who is obsessed with room cleaning every day, which is just as well as it wasn't always done when I did occasionally take the 'do not disturb' sign off the door handle when I was out most of the day at meetings. I turned the air con off for the week - in early October - but it was working okay. It was a big comfy bed. I only managed the paid for breakfast on my first morning on Sunday after 10am, and it was poor. Despite being on low heaters the fried potatoes were freezing cold, the scrambled eggs were cold and the bacon was barely warm and not evenly cooked - and wasn't properly American crispy. There was a very limited selection of other foods for a Crowne Plaza and the fresh sliced fruit was not on a cooling plate. There was also a limited bread selection and the coffee was very average. The hotel has a good sizeable pool area and sun beds are comfortable with small towels provided - u have to use two. The bar opened until about 11pm most nights. Would I be happy to stay here again? - yes, providing someone else paid for it again.

Great location if you are planning on going to a concert at the Shoreline amphitheater-10min drive. Front desk staff was friendly and assisted us quickly. Got two Spanish burgers at the bar, which were delicious! The hotel itself was nice and clean, the only complaint about the room would be is, it’s a little outdated and not enough mirrors. I stayed here for a week during a business travel. The hotel provided a good service and I had a comfortable stay. The rooms were clean and they had all the necessities. They were quite outdated and old style though. There were plenty of parking. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was extremely comfortable. I only had a minor issue which got resolved quickly. I was first put into a connecting room on the ground floor where the room connected to two other rooms. The doors were thin and I could hear every noise my neighbours made (every single step and cough) all through the night. I just didn't feel relaxed and at ease in that room due to the noise. When I told the uncomfortable feeling, the hotel staff kindly accommodated the room change request. My second room was really great. Here are some more details: Welcome: I was welcomed to the hotel with recognition to my IHG status and I was offered a welcome drink or more points as a welcome gift. Even though I chose the welcome points, it is not credited into my account. I wasn't offered a room upgrade to the best of my knowledge and I was given a room with outside patio. As explained above, it was a connecting room and I didn't feel comfortable. They accommodated my room change request which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a mix of emotions at the beginning. Room: The first room was very noisy due to being on the ground floor and being a connection room to not 1 but two rooms. It was the worst. But then, the second room was very comfortable and I started enjoying my stay after being moved into that room. The room is a bit aged but it is kept in good status and kept clean. The shower curtains could be changed more frequently but apart from that, I was happy with the room. The hotel amenities: I used the gym quite a bit due to being jet-lagged. It was a nicely equipped gym with all kind of training equipment including Peloton bikes (kudos on that). The pool area was nice but the loungers could be cleaned up a bit more often. There is also a nice bar where you can socialise with your friends. Breakfast: I only had breakfast at the hotel for 1 morning. It is quite good with whatever you can expect from an American breakfast. It was priced as 19$ per person which is a bit high but it is worth it. Location: For visiting Palo Alto and Mountain View area, it is a great location. You have plenty of parking (10$ per night) and you can park almost right next to your room. Overall, I enjoyed my stay apart from some hiccups that got resolved by the friendly staff. I would appreciate a bit more recognition to "Crowne Plaza" branding and IHG One Reward status. However, all in all, I would consider staying here again.
